Our Mission: to conserve, protect and share the natural beauty of the wilderness, in a spirit of stewardship.

One Eye Outfit is a family business which has provided high quality wilderness vacations for international travelers since 1980. Our exclusive area covers 650 square miles and is located 250 air miles north of Vancouver, B.C. on the sunny east slope of the Chilcotin Coast Mountains. We border on the southeast corner of Tweedsmuir Park, B.C.'s largest wilderness park and wildlife refuge.

We are a provincially-certified Guide-Outfitting service and a thirty-year member of the Guide-Outfitters Association of British Columbia. Our guides and staff are all professional, experienced and knowledgeable local personnel.

We use float planes, boats, canoes, and horses for travel in the Charlotte Lake - Charlotte Alplands Wilderness Area. It is unlikely you will see anyone else on your trip. We have satellite-telephone communications.

Our primary base camp is located on Charlotte Lake. In addition, we operate five other camps which give you access to the vast alpine area of the Charlotte Alplands, where you'll find the highest concentration of alpine lakes in British Columbia.

Mike at campYou will be comfortably accommodated in large expedition-style canvas wall tents. Meals made from locally-produced, high quality fresh ingredients are prepared for you over the campfire by our experienced chef.

Our trips are suitable for people of all ages; no previous riding experience is necessary. Camaraderie around the campfire, the thrill of sighting a grizzly or a mountain caribou, the peace and serenity of the wilderness setting, and awe at the sight of the brilliant night sky so far away from city lights will be memories for the rest of your life. Many of our clients report a sense of wellbeing that they have never experienced before. Getting to know your horse as a trusted friend, realizing that you haven't seen another human being outside your party for days, or catching a big wild rainbow trout on a fly may be your thing. Whatever it is, we can promise you an exceptional experience.

Here's what some of our clients wrote:

Dear Mike, Thanks again for a great wilderness experience. I cannot imagine ever going on another trip that will top the One Eye Outfit trip. I can only explain by saying `it was the real thing'. You have a top-notch operation and don't change a thing.

Thank you, again, Mike, for organizing everything right to the "T". Our memories are great. The country back there is so incredibly beautiful and so untouched it is a sancturary for the soul!
- Michael & Charlotte Ruechel family, Lumby BC

Mike, it's not often that you can book a trip of this caliber and have it exceed your expectations, but you and Edward did just that. Thanks again.
